So I'm new to motorcycle riding in general (Just got my M1 after taking the MSF BRC). I rented a Vulcan 900 today & rode CSR 2 up into Angeles National Park. I hope I wasn't holding too many of you up! (I used the turnouts!)

This seems like it'd be an amazing ride on the V-strom.

Kidding (well, mostly kidding!) -- I have an offer in on one right now, but I won't know if the dealer will accept it 'till tomorrow. If he doesn't, I'll be watching Craigslist & these forums &c. for one.

I thought I was going to be going the cruiser route, but after today I found out everything my friend said about cruisers is right. Or is at least right for the Vulcan 900. Fun bike, but probably not the best fit for me. Instead I'm pretty sold on the V-Strom 650, just because of his predictions about what I'd think about the Kawi being 100% correct. I'd still like to find a V-Strom to ride before I buy, but nowhere around here rents them (that I've been able to find).

What did you use to record that video? I'm looking at the ContourGPS.

Been there done that. Did 3 seasons with the Forest Service in the 60's as a Hot Shot and Tanker Crewman. Also did a stint on the recreation crew. Back then we didn't have no stinking 45 mph limit. I drove my dump truck at hyper legal speeds up and down the mountain. I still rely on those training sessions when riding the bike up said road. Only now it's at leagl speeds because of officer Anxious. Oh, just Dang!

Took my new Vee up ACH today. It wasn't my motard, but for riding two up, it was great. Ending up leaving some of my foot fegs on the pavement.

Just rode that yesterday with another vee. You're a day late. We ran into another wee while we were up there. When you get yours maybe we'll ride.
