I'm at 16k km on a set of michelin anakee 2. The rear is pretty squared off, the front is really unevenly weared, in the next month, i'm gonna replace both.

I liked the anakee 2, they managed to get me everywhere I like to ride. I'm doing 75% pavement, but i'd like to have a bit more safety on dirt roads. When it's dry, the anakee 2 are doing fine. I just feel that rain could get me in trouble really quick.

continental TKC80, kenda big block, Heidenau K60, they all look too agressive for my riding habits. I don't want a tire that is gonna be unsafe on pavement. I could live with a bit less dry grip or thread life than the anakee, but that's about it

I have an eye on Dunlop Trailmax TR91, Heidenau K76 and Shinko 705. If I can't find something more confortable on dirt roads thant anakee 2 with good road manners, I'll probably try the continental Trail Attacks.

Bridgestone trailwings seem to have an intesresting design, but they seem to have no grip when it's wet. I know they are OEM but I didn't purchased my bike new. So far, I've experiended worned off Tourance, and Anakee 2

Just put a set of mitas e-07 on 1000 kms ago.(rode 500kms off rd-500kms pavement) For the riding I do 40-50% off rd they are best tire I have had on yet. Have had trail wings( good for nowhere) tkc 80(great off rd-not so good at aggressive hwy riding) Torrance exp(great on hwy-so-so off rd)Torrance (slipped out on back end under aggressive cornering-ok off rd) shinko 705 radial (better then all above at every thing -except the e-o7 and the tkc off rd) The mitas is very impressive on rd and eats up the gravel,dirt,mud logging roads I ride. Almost as good as tkc 80 but the advantage of good hwy performance.

The K60's are far from unsafe on pavement they stick good in corners and are fine in the rain. The Ankees and the others with that tread design will be better on road but not by much.

I'm replacingthe Bridgestone 501 Battlewing front today. I gots 10K miles on the front. I figure it's a good thing and is relatively cheap at $117.
Sticks well enough I've worn out the sides of the tire and can scrape the pegs.
I need to find a less twisty mountain road?

I've still not mounted up my Kenda Big Blocks - kinda scared too, since a lot of my daily riding involves commuting from work and back in the fringe of a large metro area. A few hard stops for yellow lights made me kinda question the merit of running almost a full knobby in the urban jungle......

the age old "Q"

i've got over 5k miles on my 705 radials

all kinds of weather, except hard water

i will admit that the chicken strips are still a bit deeper than the centers

no complaints, yet :thumbup:

& for the $$...

no more anakee2's 4 me
