Is anybody using these AltRider highway pegs on their OEM crash bars? They claim they work on 7/8" crash bars.

I have no need for a skid plate at the moment, but will go for the Happy Trails solution, just to use their highway peg bar if these are not a viable siolution.

I'm going to suggest that the diameter of the crash bar will be the least of your problems. Based on what I see with the OEM bars, the location where you would want to mount those pegs is not perpendicular to the bike. (if that makes sense)

The Altrider pegs only have two directions for adjustment. The main clamp will swivel 360 degrees around the bar and the footpeg itself will also swivel 360 degrees on the mount itself. No matter how you adjust those pegs they will always be perpendicular to the mounting point. You will need a third swivel point to level out the pegs.

Having said that, if I'm mistaken about the angles on the crash bars, everything I just said is crap!
Unless they say made in the USA, I suspect they are cheap Chinese pegs with a huge markup. You can find essentially the same thing on Ebay for well over a hundred dollars less.

But if you extend your legs while sitting on the bike and imagine a comfortable position, is the one provided by these pegs? Some people don't mind the pegs being mounted that high. In my experience, the pegs need to be lower to be comfortable.
Great points regarding whether the pegs are perpendicular, and peg height and comfort. I think I'll go with the HT solution. Thank you Gents!

Just another thought (to cloud your decision)

My highway pegs are a parts bin creation and it took me forever to get those parts right, and also to find the perfect location to install them. Adjustability is the key factor that allowed me to find my sweet spot.

Rick is dead right when he mentions imagining that comfortable position but I would suggest that road time with your pegs is the only way get it right. (did I mention adjustability?)

The lack of options for highway pegs in the Adventure Bike market is strange. ( Rick, are you reading this? A multi adjustable mounting bracket would sure look good in your product line.)

I have the T-Rex crash bars on my 2018 which have a similar issue to your OEM bars. I tried to use cheap alternatives to the Altrider pegs (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W67TI9Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but no matter what I do I cannot get them in the right place to be comfortable (see Rick's comment above) nor am I able to get the mounts tight enough that they don't rotate on the bars when I put my feet on them. T-Rex offers their own solution but it looks pretty unwieldy: Universal Highway Pegs for T-Rex Racing engine guards - 22MM (7/8'') I may try it but I would be interested to see the Happy Trails mounted on the Strom. Please post pics if you go that route.
