Almost ready to upgrade from my L7 650...

I am not at all unhappy with my 2017 V-Strom 650. I've ridden it 30,000km and will be pounding the pavement in 7 of the New England states next week. I recently acquired a 2007 SV1000 that I fixed up and did a superbike conversion to. After riding that for a few weeks and returning to the 650, I found myself wishing for more.

I have been thinking hard about the new GSX-S1000GT - finally a bike with some of the key modern tech that Suzuki has been missing. I entered into negotiations with my local dealer but things kind of fell flat... the price was a bit high and I found myself not very excited about leaving the adventure touring practicality and riding characteristics behind for another sport tourer.

Patiently waiting for some of the S1000GT's new tech to trickle into Suzuki's other models (such as the 1050) to make a move. I'm sure it'll only be another model year or two...

FJR's.....Good but not fantastic.
There are only six New England states, but enjoy your riding there.
Fjr, literally, stands for fantastic joy ride. Just saying. 👍

In that case, all of the New England states plus NY. :)
Other than the dash display, I think the latest VStrom 1050xt should check your boxes. I was just looking at the GSX-S1000GT on Suzuki's website and think that the latest 1050xt has it beat for practicality with just about all the other features. I used to own an FJR myself, miss it sometimes, but glad to have the Vstrom. Suzuki Cycles - 2022 V-STROM 1050XT Adventure
