I am signed up for the April 9th class. I took it before and it was great. Anyone in the Bay Area going? Anyone want to go?

DESCRIPTION: This program is designed to teach basic on and off-road riding skills to students who own their own dual-sport motorcycle and would like to venture off the pavement. This training is taught with the same techniques as those used for training dual purpose motorcycle officers. The instructors are professional riders who have been teaching law enforcement for years.

We have combined the unique and special skills from law enforcement street and off-road training to provide you with a varied and comprehensive training program. Most accidents and collisions can be avoided with the use of proper techniques and skills, such as those taught to law enforcement motorcycle officers. Learn the same skills the help motorcycle officers ride safely.

Suzuki DR650's are avaialble to rent for an additional $50.00 per student.

I just saw your post this morning, and I just signed up. I've ridden bikes for all my adult life (I'm 52), but never off-road, so I'm just a little apprehensive. Thanks for the link!

I just did an intro class at RawHyde in So Cal. They teach the stand on the pegs line of riding. Better control, you know. It was a short course and when we got to the figure eight section at the end my thighs were killing me.
Being younger and better shape would have been nice. Not that it can't be done, your results will vary. It was very enlightening and fun. Worth a try, like a track day!

I've heard good things about RawHyde too - last summer I met a Dutch fellow who lives in British Columbia, rode his R1150GS down to Valencia to take their class. He said it was fantastic. (It's quite pricey tho.)

I'm looking at taking one of the upcoming Alameda courses. Not sure if I can make April, might be May.

Scary pricey. After you have taken a couple classes, at 1100-1300 bucks you can do a desert run with them for even more.
All first rate ADV amenities, professional chef et al, but out of my league.
This was on an invite from the local dealer. Drumming up future business with exposure.
