Adjusting Exhaust Flap without SDS

Anyone ever attempted adjusting theirs?
Bought my 2015 knowing it has an intermittent exhaust flap FI code. It has to be just on the edge of the voltage range cause one time it will do it and the next time it won’t.

I was having trouble with mine, I removed some of the slack in the cables and never seen the problem again.

A lot of guys have reported small rocks getting stuck in there, remove the cover and have a look, take out any slack while your there.

I added some slack in my cables, and cleaned the mechanism as best I could with contact cleaner.

Haven't had the light come back since

I’m ready to do what I’ve done on the other bike I owned with one. Delete it and forget about it.

There's a procedure for adjusting the cable lengths in the manual. Could be part of the problem?

Unless you take it out completely and use a servo buddy, just adjust it. You can't half ass it

I’ve got a servo buddy coming. I also am going to try adjusting it the way Suzuki does with SDS with my desktop power supply. If it passes I might keep it in the system. If it doesn’t work I’ll delete it. It’s going for a insurance inspection and want it quiet as a mouse for that. After that I don’t care.
