I am about to buy a very clean, unmarked, like new 2009 650 -ABS with 22,000 miles. I havnt been able to get this guy lower than about $6500. I have just realized the computer on board is is set up in metric and I think it cannot be changed so the expensive computer may do me no good at all. I really like the bike but am getting the idea it may be overpriced even considering the computer.

So buy the bike and strip that stuff off of it and sell it.

The only thing I would strip of id the computer and it may be pretty useless to folks in the US.

I"m willing to bet there is a setting to change it from metric to miles.

I am waiting for a reply from Touratech to see if they know of a way.

How much of that stuff is useful to you? Figure about half retail price for the values. For the stuff that isn't useful, let him take it off and sell it, or arrange for you to take it off and return it to him.

Unfortunately, too many folks seem to think that perspective buyers of their used equipment need to reimburse them for what they spent on accessories. Given that one man's goodies may not be what another wants or would use, the value of those accessories plummets considerably. The fact that he mentions how much he spent on the goodies tells me he wants you to pay for them. Doesn't work that way. Miffed he were to trade it in at a dealer, they would likely allow him a couple hundreds dollars extra because the bike has all that stuff, but that's about it. The accessories make for a more attractive bike. For what all that's on it, I'd offer between $4000 & $4500.
