I put Sonic springs in my 2017. They were shipped US Post. So far so good. Firmed up my front end.
Thanks for the reply, I had unknown progressive springs in a previous V-Strom 650 (when I bought it) and I liked the feel, but I really have no idea which ones were in it. Maybe just replacing the fork seals and adding fresh 10W oil will do the trick. Gravel is def an option for me but I won't realistically be doing too much of it, just want the bike to be able to handle the extra weight of gear when traveling rough Labrador/Quebec and Newfoundland roads.I'm in exact same situation with my 04 new-to-me in BC. - while i'm in there, i'm going to also check the steering bearings.. I bought into $1000 Progressive springs on my Honda Shadow and to be honest never really noticed a difference (not blaming progressive) so I'm going to pass on upgrading the springs, fix the seal leak and put it all back together with 10w oil... I did noticed that it was squirley on gravel before i put new tires on and the squirley all but went away. That'd be my first recommended fix if you are upgrading for gravel.
Mine does still vibrate and jitter on washboard but I'm not sure how much oil is left in the forks which I assume may be what you are trying to get rid of..
I put progressives in my K5 DL1000, and they made a big difference. Much nicer. The Gen3 DL650 already has progressive springs, but they are set for riders of about 150 lbs. I bought Wilbers progressives for my 2020 DL650 XTA, and they are made for heavier riders, and they are also much longer, so that they don't require a spacer. While I greatly appreciate the offer, I am closer to 250 than 150lbs so I'm going to wait to see if I can find a set that is more suitable for what I am throwing at the poor bike.I put progressives in my K5 DL1000, and they made a big difference.
