I replaced my axle nut with the self locking 1-1/16" from Dual Star. This leaves me wondering if there is any practical reason for keeping the stamped 24mm wrench in the tool kit. Is there any other realistic use for it on the side of the road?

BTW, if you buy the Dual Star nut, note (as I did not) that you will have to add a means to wrench it to your tool kit. I found that the OD of a box wrench would not fit within the aluminum axle plate. So I instead pack a 1-1/16" socket, a 3/8" drive flex handle, and a 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter. I'm not sure that carrying the extra tools are worth the upgrade.

I know what you mean. I put my Dual Star in the parts box and bought a 2009 Suzuki 24mm Fuji type axle nut.

I think the steering cap nut is 24mm.
