The normal version is basically the XT of 2020-2022, but with all the minor design issues I have with it addressed :
  • Standard alloy wheels (no spokes)
  • TFT screen
  • Cruise control a bit more permissive in terms of speed / gear range

Small upgrades that I believe can only help make it find its place as a more grown-up sport touring machine that is also quite utilitarian.

I am just hoping they port the software upgrade to 2020-2022 versions for the cruise control.

I don't think I have ever seen a new 1050 on a dealer showroom floor yet. ??
This is exciting-I‘ve been hoping for a base model with alloy wheels and cruise control. This may be it.

Well you might be disappointed: the new "base model" is actually the XT with alloy wheels and TFT screen instead of LCD.
This means there is no more equivalent to a 2020-2022 base model, and the price of the 2023 "base model" will at least match the one of the 2020-2022 XT model.
I'm liking the 21" front wheel the most. The screen is pretty, but the front wheel will make it much better off-road. I'm hoping I can just buy the hoop and spokes and replace my current hub. Then add a front fender extender I should be in business (fingers crossed).

... and that page includes a 90 degree V-Twin DL650.

So does that mean the new ~700cc parallel twin is delayed a year or a new sister in the Suzuki adventure family?
Looks good the base model now ticks more boxes than my 2021 base model , but not enough for me to change mine
Be very interested in costs hopefully Suzuki prices it well

Could be they're introducing it in some markets before others. I like how Suzuki is warming up to the idea of offering the same bike with multiple rim options. I'd consider the parallel twin if I could get it with something sportier than a 21" front wheel.
What I don't understand is how can they put tubeless on the back and tube on the front, I think it is the first bike with this setup...

When the new 1000GT Sport Tourer came out with TFT I thought the 1050 would also get it pretty quickly.

Totally agree with this!

I've seen folks speculating the new twin 650 would be a 2024 model? Of course it's hard to be sure, folks put out videos based on rumors of speculations they've heard from their roommate's brother-in-law....
