2021 XT price check

Hey guys! I am looking on line at a 2021 650 XT with 1200 miles. It looks in excellent condition and stock. It is at a dealership so I think the OTD will be close to 10k. Is that semi-reasonable? I dont think they will budge much as they already have it marked as "on sale" but I can try!

Seems like a good deal. In Northern California it's a great deal.

Thanks! I forgot to mention location. This is in the South East USA. North Carolina to be more specific.

Although I can’t condone a purchase from a stealership, after all they’re charging you almost the cost of a brand new 2023 650XT  but that’s probably par for the course anywhere. I purchased my 2021 650XT about 2 1/2 months ago with less than 3k on it for $6700 from a private seller. Well taken care of and completely stock with the exception of an adjustable Givi windshield. I was fortunate no one had snatched it up as it had been listed for over a week. I’m coming up on 10k miles and cannot be happier with the purchase, definitely and highly recommend the bike. It is however the time of year that’s know for better deals on recreational vehicles that are seasonal for most people. I would personally wait for a better deal to come along, possible from a fellow stromtrooper here, I’ve seen some nice ones come and go in the past few months on this site alone. But if you can afford it who cares what others think? It’s a great bike, you’ll enjoy it no matter how much you pay for it(y)👊

Here's a 2021 with next to no miles for $6500 USD at a Suzuki dealer in Quebec.

I checked on a new 2023, if I can find one:

10799 base
440 freight
150 freight surcharge
---
11389 before the stealership gets their fees in there.

setup 250-500 (depending on the steal)
doc fee 99-399 (depending on the steal)
3% NC tax
120 registration
typically they add $1000-1200 to the cost by the time you are out the door

You got a steal on yours! Were you wearing a mask at the time? I don't see prices like those around here :(

As prime riding season ends, I should probably wait a bit and see if anyone gets desperate to sell...

They hit me with the bad news:

$8895
$300 shipping (because they bought it out of town and shipped it in)
$400 service (they charge this on every bike)
$395 doc fee
$375 tax and tag
$10365 final painful total. I am sure I could work them down a little but its a discouraging spot to start from!
Crazy aint it. I guess dealers stay in business because of impatient people like me are willing to pay more.

Sometimes you just get lucky with timing 🤷‍♂️
I’ve learned the hard way and would personally never purchase a motorcycle from a dealership again.
I bought my 2021 650XT (without the factory panniers but with some other minor accessories) a year ago from a guy on this forum. I paid $8000 and he met me half way for the bike pickup. It had around 2500 miles on it. I rode it before buying it because it was used. I had owned two previous versions of the 650 vstrom so it knew what to expect as far as fit, power, etc but wanted to make sure it didn't have mechanical problems.
Motorcycling has become a rich person’s past time. Boating and RVing also.

My guess, come this winter, bikes are going to start stacking up at dealers and there will be some good used deals.

That's not too much over the $10K you were expecting & people here said that was a good deal. Why not offer them $10K out the door or a little less and see if they can work with you?
Yeah, the G3 V-stroms are getting pretty hard to find round these parts....

Used would save all the shipping and logistics BS.

I did find one at a local. But they had a 2014 1000 that was cheaper!
Yea I guess you are right. It sure is a looker. I just hate all those fees. But I guess its the bottom line that matters.
I paid $10,380 out the door for a brand new 2022 Adventure model here in Kentucky.
I just paid $11K out the door for a 2021 650XT with 3,300 miles on it. It was listed for $8,995 but when you add tax, license, registration, dealer prep, etc., it was $11,000 (or thereabouts) from a dealer. A bit high but I was happy with the deal. The bike is super clean and fun to ride. Given the market for motorcycles these days, it's a bit tough to gauge what's a good deal and what isn't with supply chain issues and bike shortages. I'm happy and that's all that matters! I hope you're happy too.
$7500 out the door for a 2020 XT ADV with 8500 miles. Factory side cases and a bash plate. Asking price was $9999.
