I bought a brand new 2020 Vstrom 650 . It’s my fourth Vstrom since 2008. I was actually looking to buy a Yamaha Fj09 or a Fjr 1300. I didnt like the motorcycles as much as the Vstrom.
Yes.Did you actually ride any of those bikes?
The Fjr is amazing if you stick to the pavement only. Forget about exploring a dirt or gravel road on it.Wow...... I am surprised the Strom bested the FJR-1300. That is an amazing motorcycle.
Best of luck to you.@Phantom strom I'm going to be buying a brand new 2020 650 very very soon. It will be my first strom. CAN'T WAIT
Just to keep you motivated....@Phantom strom I'm going to be buying a brand new 2020 650 very very soon. It will be my first strom. CAN'T WAIT
So pretty. I'm on the home stretch. I'm thinking my new should be in my driveway before the end of the month.
MANY do however explore gravel and dirt on the FJ-09 and Tracer 900, can't imagine would be much worse than a Strom.....now FJR is a whole different animal. The Fjr is amazing if you stick to the pavement only. Forget about exploring a dirt or gravel road on it.
I have the US 2020 650XT -- I wish Suzuki had put on the gold rims, mine are just black. The gold rims are really good looking.Just to keep you motivated....
I guess this thread pushed you over the line. Congratulations, mine has been a very trusted friend.I did a thing today. I went to the dealer and put a deposit on my new Strom 650!!! So excited.
Well it was 57 degrees out so I called the dealer to prep my new 2020 650 so I could pick it up after work. Tossed down the rest of the cash I owed and rode it home. I'm so excited!!! It ride so nice and smooth compaired to my old VT1100. As for your question @herb s., I paid a total of 8200 for my leftover 2020. I don't know where you live but here in the northeast it is really a sellers market right now. I'm sure it is the same everywhere but my dealer literally cant keep things on the floor to sell. I have a good friend that works there and he was telling me that they have sold more bikes in the last 2 months then they did from August 2020 to the end of 2020. He said they have never seen anything like it. They are a Honda dealer and they have pre-sold the next 30 side-by-sides. Most dealers are crying to get used bikes just to have something to sell. Now would be a good time to trade in the Burgman and get a Strom.I'm looking to transition from an '07 Burgman 400 to a new V-Strom 650. Advice on how to get the best deal on a leftover '19 or '20 model?
The Ultimate Coast to Coast record was set on an FRJ1300. I believe that this record has since be broker. If you have a gravel road and know how to ride a gravel road you would be find. The Fjr is amazing if you stick to the pavement only. Forget about exploring a dirt or gravel road on it.
Congrats. I’m on my fourth Vstrom now . I’ve owned two 2008 Vstrom 650’s, A 2012 Vstrom 1000. And now 2020 Vstrom 650. I like the 650’s better.
The new 1050 feels like the 650 with more power, comparable gas mileage, better brakes/suspension and electronic wizardry.....but yeah IMHO all the 650 model years were "overall" better than the first gen 1000's. Suzuki would have an even better winner if they would simply share some parts with the 1050/650, totally eludes me as to why they haven't yet. When I picked up my bike on Wednesday, there was a guy looking at a new 1050. He was new to riding and I told him that I was riding a new 650 home and we starting chatting about the differences. I told him that alot of the guys that have riden stroms alot say they proffer the 650.
