According to the ad, I am rather certain you cannot buy it at the listed price.

"Advertised pricing excludes applicable taxes title and licensing, dealer set up, destination, reconditioning and are subject to change without notice. Pricing may exclude any added parts, accessories or installation unless otherwise noted. Sale prices include all applicable offers. Not all options listed available on pre-owned models. Contact dealer for details."

Ads like this are very common on Cycle Trader. Bait to get you to come in or call.

Yeah, I was looking around CT the other day and found one for $9400.00 :surprise:

Most are down in GA and NC. If you can get someone to go in for you and get an OTD price for a fly and ride....

I have a local dealer that has...

'18 V-Strom 1000 ABS ... $10499!
'18 V-Strom 1000 XT ... $10299!

See if you can get a quote and the BS fees.

Not always true . Sport Cycles / Rockingham is , and has been for years, a no fee dealership. No fees of any kind. Friends of mine have bought from them several times and they say it was the best dealership experience ever. The Honda dealer in Chattanooga is the same way . No fees. NONE . Lots of people here around Knoxville go to Chattanooga and Rockingham to buy bikes . There is a Suzuki/ Kawasaki dealer in Hotchton, Ga. ( Northeast Georgia Motorsports) that has outstanding prices and used to sell with no fees , but I don't know if it's still that way. It's too bad good dealers are hard to find and bad dealers give them all a bad name.
So, before you cast judgement give 'em a call and see what they say . Plenty of good deals out there.

What he said, that is the OTD price plus tax n tags. Sports Cycle is one of the most reputable dealers I have ever know of. They really are that good. They sell all over the nation through their eBay store.

Dave....miss your 'strom eh?.....
You have no idea, I have bought and sold dozens of bikes over my life, I have never ever regretted a sale like I do with the sale of my V Strom. I just paid off my new wing, so its a keeper for 2 up with the kid and wife. But, and there is always a but, the Strom was the most fun I have ever had on a bike ever. I am seriously drawn to 2017 650 in black, it just looks bad ass. But, another but, I also know I am too heavy for it, so I will be going with a Black 1000XT. I have to pay off my deductibles and max out of pocket charges for my transplants, as soon as that is done I will have a new 1000XT parked next to the Wing. If I had to choose just one, it would be the Strom, thank god I don't have to choose because my girls love the Goldwing.

I learned from the first one. This one will have a different approach. Givi aluminum top box, OEM center stand, Rear hugger, Givi crash bars, Airflow shield and Denali lights, and that is a wrap. I am sure some small things like the sparkbright LED voltage monitor, power plug and Ram X grip, but that's about it.

Givi isn't listing fitment yet for '17+
think 14-16 crash bars and Airflow will fit?

Get that new 1000XT Dave, then ride up to see me!!!!
I will, it's a sweet bike. If I was a solo rider I would dump the wing and have it today, but I would get murdered if I did. The wife and kid love that thing with its massive pillion, smooth ride, intercom and such. I will be keeping the Wing for the two up rides which now are quite often and the XT for me. The black XT just twist my trigger in all the right ways.

crash bars fit, i have not tried an Airflow though.

The side cases fit but sit way to high making them a HUGE regret of mine! The top case rack fits as well but you cannot use the cross bar supports, they have a new version of it that's basically the same as the previous without the cross bar.

That's good to know, I would only be mounting their aluminum top box, don't need the side boxes. With the newly designed windshield, the airflow may not be needed.

I had the airflow on my 2014.it's better then the 2018... But not sure by enough to justify the cost

A few real good dealers around. One of the best friends I have ever has sold the dealership he started in 1976 after 40 years.Started with Suzuki then added Yamaha and Kaw after a few years. So many repeat buyers over the years. Roll out price was one reason. I all ways got it but some just do not want to give it to you.
Shop around is all ways smart and if they will not give you a 100% roll out price leave and tell them why. Only time I went out of state for a lots better buy was 1974 when Pug Vicker's Honda in Tenn. beat the two local, with in a 100 mile dealers,by $500! When word got out flat bed loads were coming back by 1976 with local Honda dealer telling them as he did me,"I will not touch it warranty or not!" This was with out me asking when he saw the new bike at his dealer ship. Some tried but he just let them set till they got so mad took them some where else.
If they had came with in $100 would have bought local but $500 in 1974 money was big! Check on your add on stuff all so. Even more so if putting on your self. Used take off can be really good deals but being able to see it first is best bet on used IMO..My wife does not go out of state with me anymore so at 71 my smallest new bike ever in over 50 years of riding has become my Wee Tour bike. Need to sell all my bigger bikes but one for when she wants a short or day ride. She hates my Vstrom in looks and will not even get on it! Harley and Road Star she likes.
