2016 Bridgestone Battle-axe tires - Still Good/Safe?

So I have a set of Bridgestone Battle-axe tires that I immediately swapped out when I picked up my used 2012 Vstrom 650. Date codes are both mid 2016, with lots of tread left. I'm not looking to sell these, I'd honesty give them away if they're still any good - I'd feel better doing that then taking them to the recycler, but only if it's safe. Too old? I remember reading that 8years is the max for tire safety . . . If still good, anyone want them in eastern Ontario?
Thanks team....

Meh, up to you. 🤷‍♂️

If they are slippery, probably toss them.
Lots of good info on this polarizing subject here (IMO, anyway) : YouTube
Since they've been used, toss 'em and sleep the better for it.

If they were new and had just been sitting in a closet or something, they would probably be usable. But the clock starts ticking when they go into service.

In my experience, three years in service makes a very noticeable difference from the saddle even when tread wear is minimal.

Well, according to Ari, Bridgestone says 10 years service life for a 'properly' maintained road tire . . . . what 'properly maintained' means aside from excessive wearing and burnouts I'm sure I don't know!!

Out of the Sun, not flat spotted, stored well…
If someone was low on cash and had to get by they would work.

They went up to $5 each just to "toss them" at my local recycler. Probably donate them to someone low on cash like Loco said.
Those actually look pretty good for their age. Not sure if you still have them? I wouldn't feel bad at all giving them away, particularly if you let the taker know all the caveats. Better than being wasteful.

That said, I'd take em if I was in the Eastern ONT, but I'm on the other side.
