I have a 2012 650 weestrom. I'm tired of taking off the seat and disconnecting the abs fuse to disable it while descending steeper dirt paths and steeper singletrack. So scary when the the abs comes on and the brakes go off. So here is my solution. Installing an adapter in place of the ABS fuse, wiring one end of the adapter (one of two prongs) to a waterproof two pronged toggle switch. The 2nd prong to a new fuse holder and having the other fuse wire back to the adapter thereby completing the circuit.

The best thing about this setup is that no wires are cut and the setup basically stays the same with exception of the toggle switch. Not only that, I can pull the adapter and reinstall the original fuse as if I never changed anything.

Enclosed is a diagram of how I am wiring it (sorry, I'm no artist) and the parts I will be using. 3rd photo is the adaptor. All parts are heavy duty with 14 gauge wiring.

Any problems with what you see?

What we need is someone here with a 3d printer to print up some of those fuse connectors but with a right-angle bend in it to keep the profile lower so things fit under the fuse box cover.

I built mine out of epoxy but printed plastic would be great and there could be some cash to be made for the right person ??

Could be worth trying some heat on that connector it see if it could be bent ???

Switch: Depends where and how you want to mount it. Here are some alternatives to ponder:

The photos and pricing keeps the whole setup is less than $35 with high quality parts that can take the amp load. I plan to mount it on my fairing panel for easy access. I'll post photos once I complete the setup.

The other way to disable the abs is to put the bike on the center stand and spin just one wheel.

A 2 pole single throw switch from factory connectors to the power feeds to the 2 ABS fuses , 1 pole for each fuse. As a precaution I only flip the switch with the key off.
The switch is located below the left side panel on ABS pump bracket.

Can you post a link to the switch you used and maybe a couple of pictures of the install location?

Do you still have a speedometer with both fuses isolated ?

On the V2 you would loose the speedometer.

You can flip the switch with the ignition on as there is no load until you lock a wheel, then the system will activate and the pump starts to operate.

Every thing still works. ABS light reminds me the system is off.

Hey mate, can you post any photos of your install? I went to do this switch and wasn't really comfortable with how high the fuse adaptor sat out of the ABS fuse holder. I was thinking about bending the connector on a 45 degree bend to make it sit a bit flatter.
