2006 to 2007 RHS Switchgear changes?!

I am new to VStroms and I have noticed a difference between the 2006 and the 2007 v-stroms that I have in my possession.

The one on the 2007 feels nicer on the finger it has a little edge and seems like the stock one. The 2006 I believe is an aftermarket replacement but I'm not really sure.

This is the rhs switch gear on the 2007:

I'd like to swap them if they have the same end connector and I will do some research shortly to see if that's possible but wanted to see if this is the stock components or not on the 2006. It is my plan to keep the 2006 and sell the 2007.

Interesting. My 2004 looks different from both.

Actually, your 2006 switchgear looks a lot like my 2011 Ducati Monster, which is stock (I purchased it new in late 2010).

Thanks for those part diagrams, that answers my question that the 2006 RHS Switchgear is stock. Wondering now if the end connectors are the same and these could be swapped ...?

I haven't looked into the difference of connector wiring, but if you view a wiring diagram for each year in question, you can track the colors of each connector vs the switch function for yourself.

If you don't have any of these diagrams for the K4 / K6 / K7 Wee, then these links may be of help, #6 of BillB33 NO START and low or no charge to battery! (K7 Wee diagram) and #34 of chec fault please help (K4 Wee diagram)

For wiring related diagrams for my K5 and K6, I make use of the K4 wiring diagram.

Edit: I should have included that the wiring to the starter siwitch of the K5+ have a headlight disconnect on depressing the starter button. This is to allow for more power to the starter, but has caused a number of headlight failure to many, due arching of the starter button contacts Good info on the starter button maintenance, Start Switch Maintenance

2nd Edit: add link How the start switch starts the engine and disconnects...
