2005 Throttle body tick- sound with butterfly's

I am having this issue with my 05 DL 1000 and dont know what is causing this. The sound occurs at both higher and lower RPMs, sometimes with some backfiring. Gas flow from new pump is spot on, verified by flow test. Bike has 24k miles on it. TPS units are still original on the bike. I have checked and tightened the throttle body attachment boots to the cylinders, there are no gaps there. Could it be related to the air reeds per cylinder are cracked? THanks for the help
