Taking my 07 DL650 into the shop for some of the 14500 mile maintenance items. I'm going to have them do:

  • Valve check/adjust
  • Throttle Body Sync
  • Spark Plugs
Two other items that I'm not sure about listed in the manual:

  • PAIR System
  • Emissions
If figured I'd have them check these two items while they're in there (tank/radiator/etc have to be removed), but I'm wondering how necessary these checks are. I think the emissions system is specific to my California model.

Has anyone had to bother with the PAIR or emissions systems, or should I just leave them alone?

I'm doing the same 14,500 maintenance soon too.

I'm not doing any emissions stuff, but I have having the air filter inspected/replaced since you need to remove the tank (not just lift it).

Being the suspicious sort, I'd make sure that thet only charge you once for lifting the tank (not charge for the work to get access for each part of the job), charge for the valve clearance check, and charge separately for each valve that needs adjusting.

Change the air filter while you have the access, and change the coolant if it hasn't been done.
