DDM HID instal pic

This photo shows 2 ballasts mounted infront of the cowl support skeleton, the little boxes, near the ballasts were tucked in near by .
I cable tied @ 6 feet of cable sternward -not shown.
I wish I could better picture what space is OK to use for wiring with all the plastic removed- but I will see how it works as I out the plastic back on.

Test of HID- starts promptly, good color, Hi/Lo works well

Now to hook up switch to a relay (to have HID off on starting), the Oxford grip conroller install and run cables from Zumo to Starcom1

by the way- see the white plug with black cap

to the left. It sits behind the plug to the speedo/tach.
Any one know what it is?

It looks like a junction of ground wires. Only the battery grounds to the motor, all the rest ground to the provided ground wires in the harness.

I think in addition to black wires there was brown .

I'm not seeing such a connector in the wiring diagram and don't remember one there. Has anything been added that might account for it?

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

not that I know of

I looked again and it has only black wires with white tracer

It's indeed a grounding connection. B/W wires are always ground.
