This topic has been beat to death. I see you are new here, so try a search using the Google Custom Search box near the top of the page. You will get more than enough info.

I don't understand why people get so anal when something is been discussed before. Are you guys trying to save some hard drive space or something?

I agree. Afterall, the subforum title is "...GPS, Electronics, etc." If you don't want to respond, simply move on to the next topic. I've had the experience (on other forums) of searching but not finding and then getting berated for not searching. Many of the search functions on forums are not worth the price of admission though I've not searched on this one.

I'll give you my .02 and then you can search for more opinions if you wish:

Garmin Zumo series. MC specific, waterproof, bluetooth capable, lots of cool features including a fuel monitor that will tell you when you are getting low and give you the closest fuel locations. My problem is forgetting to reset it when I fill up! They are more expensive than comparable Nuvi series but worth it in my book.

I use a Zumo 660, which replaced a Garmin 60Cx. I was happy enough with the 60Cx but the smaler screen was gettign hard to read.

The Zumo is a nice unit, way too much money but I ride enough that for I can justify it.. There is an updated model comng this fall which looks nice.

Garmin has also come out with some update handhelds lately that might be nice to use on a bike as well (The Montana series I believe) but may be in the same price range when you add bike mounts, etc.

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)

I use my GPSMap62ST from Garmin. I like to have 1 GPS I use for all things rather than multiples for riding, ATVing, Geocaching, etc... It's a pricey booger, but works well.

Maybe slightly off-topic, but consider a smartphone with a monster waterproof case. I have just bought this one from Amazon:

It's not as nice as having a stand-alone unit but it might save you some cash if you would rather not spend $500+ on a waterproof GPS.

How long before the phone runs out of battery? Doesn't look like it can be charged in the case.
