I use same model as Greywolf but the thread in dash type. I have several on my boats as well and to keep them from corroding I coat inside with dialectric grease every couple of years. Oldest one installed in 1999 on the boat and still corrosion-free. There a nicer looking units around but for me, cheap and cheerful works. Mine came from Canadian Tire, around $5-8 at the time. The spring loaded cap seems to work fine to hold the charging adapters in place - haven't had one pop out yet.
On my bike, since I'm mounted in the fairing panel and wired to a fuse block under the seat - I use an SEA-type connector (like for trailer light hookups) up near the fairing so when I have to take the plastics off I can just disconnect it easily.
