Hi all! I hope you can help me out and explain something that I think should be extremely simple...I'm installing a Stebel tomorrow, but I figured while we were installing something electrical, I would also install my gps, and my EasternBeaver PC-8 Fusebox so that wiring would be easier in the future.
Tonight I disconnected my old horn, and what I found was it was not the OEM horn. Instead it was a Taiwan special (not sure the brand) that it appears the PO had installed using one of the bolts for the crashbars... After inspecting the wiring of the old horn and finding I could probably make it work for connecting the relay to after some slight re-running of wire, I decided to go in search of the rear-brakelight connector to connect the PC-8 to. What I thought would be a fairly easy job, has turned into me
, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it has given me an opportunity to explore the bike.
I first found a ground of 16GA running from the battery to a ring terminal and a 16GA red (I can only assume it is "hot") running from a Quick Splice to a ring terminal. (See first circle on the left).
After tracing these wires, I continued my search for the rear break connector. I believe I found it (second circle), but am not sure. I was expecting to see just a connector "hanging" out, but it appears, (without taking my side-case racks off so I can pull the plastics completely off), that it is connected to another set of wires.
So the question I have...is do I need to pull the racks and the plastics off, and unplug the brakes and then plug them back into the Eastern Beaver setup of wires, or am I not seeing something? Thank you all for your help!
