Can I splice my etymotic buds into a parrot sk4000 headset?

so this is the problem. I love my etymotics (er6i) the cord is damaged.... currently shrink tubing is holding it all together. anyway, I've always wanted to go wireless with my audio.

I have also wanted to go to something like the parrot sk4000 bluetooth helmet speaker and microphone set.

But... I don't want to give up my noise cancelling that's provided by the ety's, how difficult would it be to simply cut off the existing helmet speakers and splice in the earbuds? would the sound quality be degraded because of the possible difference in impedance?

also how hard is it to solder these types of wires? I know they are thin, and are possible self shielded?
