bought the spot unit in July, we've used it a few times of course. It's great to track a persons progress or map you trip. I used it again going to Montana, wife was able to see that I was safe, then it stoped working. Apparently I have been sitting just outside of Butte MT for a few days, Tech support said to move to a clear area , replace the batteries, turn unit of/on. LADY !! Montana has big skys.
Got home and called them again, waited over twenty minutes for a tech again, now I have to mail it in for repair or replacement. All that extra insurance I bought wont help either, if I want overnight delivery of a new unit that will cost me. I think Tech support did not help me at all, and since SPOT is not as reliable as it claims, I don't feel good recommending it to friends,
