Cardo Scala G4 firmware v3.0 experience?

Does anyone have a G4 with the new 3.0 firmware?

I have been wanting either a G4 or a Sena SMH10 but until now neither of them do what I want perfectly. (Isn't that always the way it is?)

I have an iPhone and I very much like to listen to Pandora while riding. I would like to stream Pandora through the headset. I also have a Garmin bluetooth enabled GPS. At the very least it would be nice to have it's spoken directions piped through to the headset. Even better would be having the iPhone's phone functions through the GPS for called ID and such. (This is a minor point for me because I don't want to use the phone when I'm on bike 99.99% of the time but for emergencies or whatever I'd like the option.)

So, has anyone gotten this to work? The 3.0 firmware for the G4 adds a standalone A2DP channel. My belief is that with that extra channel I should be able to pair the iPhone directly to the headset via A2DP for music and to the GPS for phone and then the GPS to the Headset for phone/GPS nav.

Any feedback from folks who have solved this or similar problems would be appreciated. I've read through other threads here and elsewhere but haven't found much on experiences with the new G4 firmware.

Thanks in advance.

I have two of these. The teamset I think they call it.

Its only now that I've been able to get the bike out and try them now.

The volume control is much better. The FM scan feature is new.... not sure how useful it is though.

Last year nobody could tell I was riding a motorcycle when I would call them on my BlackBerry via bluetooth to the headset. With this new firmware everyone I call is complaining they can't understand me or I sound like a robot. I've tried resetting the phone and headset several times. Doesn't seem to make any difference.

The speakers are nice. Mount easily. It is important to run the opposite speaker wire over the TOP of the helmet and not the back like the guide says. Its used as the FM antenna.

The mic boom is nice but a wired one would be better. The foam muffs they include seems to deteriorate quicker then I thought they would.

On the old firmware I'd give it a 9/10. Only negative was the volume between functions.

New firmware with my bluetooth calling issues..... 6/10. Kind of takes away from the point of having it.

Oh and the intercom works well. My wife and I can get .... 1KM apart down the road and sill talk

Guy @ work has one of these. We played with it for a few min the other morning. I liked it so much I placed an order for a single headset yesterday. I expect it in a few days.

iphone + GPS: He has reported that the set will not pair with both. He has a Zumo 220. He says he cannot pair both the iphone and the GPS at the same time. Says the Zumo acts like a cellphone and you can only pair one cell phone at a time. Maybe he is just doing it wrong. But he doesn't care as he doesn't need GPS audio in the headset.

v3 firmware: Says the upgrade was definitely a good one. He just recently bought the set and was disappointed with a couple bugs he had with it. He was about to return it when he discovered he war running a 2.x firmware and 3.0 was available. He upgraded and both of his issues were fixed.

Pandora: Works great. This is actually what got me to go buy it. That and the audio/sound quality. You can 'skip' to the next song in Pandora using the helmet mounted controls. Audio quality is good. Volume levels are "loud". I expect it to hold up against ~80MPH indicated 'slab speeds + foamie ear plugs.

The functionality with pandora is what sold me on a BT set. The upgradability is what got me to shell out for the Scala.

He says he and his missus have screwed around with the conference dialing stuff and says it is really impressive. I ride solo, so I'll probably never use this myself, ironically.

Wish I had this kind of tech in my cage.
