Need A Little Computer Help

This blasted computer will be the death of me.

For some reason, known but to God, all of my bookmarked or favorite web sites keep disappearing. I'm talking 100's of bookmarked sites and several of them not porn. I have repeatedly re-bookmarked several sites and sure enough they disappear too. In the past hour I have had to re google stromtrooper's address 4 times and it just vanished again.

Any ideas on what I can do to stop this and possibly restore the lost sites? I have tried system restore and got bupkus.

Thanks for any insight.

1. Use FireFox or Chrome in conjunction with Xmarks for your bookmarks

or even better

2. Use delicious.com or Pinboard - antisocial bookmarking for your bookmarks and never be without them from any computer anywhere ever again

That's just the thing I am an avid user of FireFox and Xmarks.

IE9

might as well try another browser, IE9 (beta) is just out and seems to work well, more like chrome than IE8, noticeably quicker than before. say what you will, but Microsofts products really are the most secure. microsoft security essentials? its frustrating at times, good luck.

Thanks guys. Well, most of you anyways. I guess need to trust google for all answers. Even though I can't get a permanent fix I am able to access my favorites on IE8. I can't get IE9 to download on my xp system it appears that it only will work with vista or 7. I'm just glad that I didn't lose the good data.

What's odd is that I have been using Firefox for over a year and no problems. Then it goes rogue. IE8 seem so bulky compared to FF.
