GI Pro Gear Indicator Under Glass

Been lurking here a while and now have finally bought a 2005 DL650 K5. It's certainly a nice change of pace from my old V Star 650!

Does anybody know if the GI Pro Gear Indicator can be mounted under the glass (clear plastic) of the tachometer? Does it fit? A hole would have to be drilled somewhere for the cable ... can it be sealed?

That would sure make it more appealing.

I don't think there is space. The slickest mount I have seen is the richland Rick or Eastern beaver mount above the key hole. That gives you an extra power outlet and the face of the gear indicator is seen but not the box.

Thanks for the tip. Both RichlandRick and Jim at Eastern Beaver responded to my inquiries right away.

Eastern Beaver doesn't have anything for gear indicators.

RichlandRick has that real nice utility shelf but it's unclear how the GI Pro would work since it appears to be designed for surface mount ... it would stand proud quite a bit.

Since your speedo is highly inaccurate, why not put it over there?

Then find a digital speedo to put next to it.

I might be talked into building one if you can't find one; this is something I've been wanting to do for a while.

As I've told you many times before, the journey is the destination. So to answer your question: Yes, we are there.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
