About 5 weeks ago I left my GPS plugged in to my non-switched 12V plug for 4 or 5 days. Went to start the bike and the battery was dead. No surprises there, no issue.
Next I left my heated grips on (they are wired direct to battery). Dead bike. OK, my fault.
I haven't noticed the issue again until...
Last week I installed the following:
-USB charger for my iPhone/iPod (PC8 switched)
-2x 55w H4 aux lights (PC8 switched)
-Eastern Beaver H4 relay kit for the main lights
-Eastern Beaver PC8
-12v lighter adapter under the seat where my GPS stays plugged in. I unplug the GPS from the charger, but the charger stays plugged into the lighter socket. (PC8 non switched)
Now it seems as though the batterry won't hold a charge for more than 2 days...
I need to boost it in the morning, but by the time I get to work (40km) it will start on its own. It's fine at the end of the day, but I am now carrying booster cables with me everywhere I go.
I'm thinking I may have shorted something somewhere, but all of the accessories and sockets work as they are supposed to...
I followed the instructions for the H4 relay kit, but I'm not 100% convinced, as it seemed too easy.
What sayeth the collective? Is the battery charging but not keeping the charge? Or is it not getting charged properly?
