Clear Protective Covering

Does anyone use these with their GPS? I stumbled upon this sort of thing recently and it got me wondering about them and if they are really needed.

The covering they advertise is "NASA" strong and will protect the screen.

I use the Zagg protectors for phone, GPS and laptop. Buy one and it lasts forever unless you cut it. Doesn't scratch or haze. Originally Zagg was used for military chopper rotor blade protection.

Thanks for the replies on this. That Zagg stuff looks pretty interesting from the videos the have. Plus, they market a specific product for my Nuvi 550 (same size and all as the 500).
