HELP! with google maps and Droid

I have several maps saved in Google maps. I have a Droid phone. Is there a way to use the saved maps in Google and pull them up on the phone and then use them with the GPS function to do the route? I am not really techy but this would be a HUGE help for the trip this summer. Thanks for any help.

PS, I have talked to Verizon and they have no idea.

Try opening the map on your computer, then use the Send button on the top right to send it to an email account that you have setup on your Droid. Open the link in the email from your phone, and it should ask you whether to open the link via your browser or the Maps application. Pick Maps and it should import the route.

As far as tying in into the navigation, I haven't tried that yet but give it a shot and let me know if it works out. Hope this helps!

I just came across MyTracks, from our good friends at Google. It looks like it might be just the trick. Here is a review/tutorial that runs through some of the major features and has a barcode link for the download.

Great advice about creating the map route in Google Maps then emailing it to your phone, that's the way I have been doing it.

Remember you can alter the route that Google selects by putting your cursor on the route and dragging it to another route or road and the new route will snap in place.

And make sure you take advantage of the different layers such as traffic and street view, pretty cool to see a picture of the intersection pop up on the Droid when you get near it for a turn.
