Hi all, I installed the Blueskysea DV688 on my 2010 DL650 today. The front cam is mounted in the front centre of the cowling withe the rear mounted on the rear mud guard as shown in the pictures. I've located the main control box under the seat because it's close to my Fuzeblock for easy connection plus I just didn't want another device mounted in my dashboard area to distract me.

I went for a test ride and found I had to adjust the rear camera up slightly because it was capturing the top of the tail light in the video playback. I made the adjustment and all good. Apart from that I had the mic on and it was quite noisy (wind) so I need to re-think if I need it on anyways.

The unit came with an optional GPS and apparently my test ride was done a couple of hundred km's off the Victoria/New South Wales coast in the Pacific Ocean. I've since re-set it but have not checked the latest video.

Cheers.

Got an old Honda in the garage too, eh?

camera set up is neat. what is the cycle time on record? A couple hours of time?
The Honda is a 2006 CT110, ex- Aussie Post bike, it cost me more to get it road registered than it cost to buy. It's a great little machine.

I have the cameras set for a 10 minute loop and the system comes with a button I've mounted on the right hand cowling. Loop options are 1,3,5 or 10 minutes. I've put some tape over the mic, the wind is too noisy.

The GPS is mounted on the left side of the cowling.

I'll post some samples of the video next weekend.

Cheers

Sounds like a great setup. Two things I took into consideration when installing a dash cam in my truck and my car. First, the shorter loops are much preferred by me. You catch the same amount of video; but, the shorter loops are much easier to review, when necessary or desired. Second, if you have a tendency to have a desire to surpass the speed limit, the GPS records your speed at all times in your video. I point that out only should the need arise for you to use it as evidence that someone pulled out in front of you and caused an accident and you seek to have them/their insurance pay for your damages that they caused. If the video/GPS shows you exceeding the speed limit, your chances of recovery are diminished significantly. Once again, nice setup.

Appreciate your post, it all makes sense. I'll change to a shorter loop. I have up to a 6 kilometer difference between my Speedo and the speed I'm travelling showing on my GPS. I am comfortable with the speed stamped on the video from the camera system.

So these are waterproof units and powered/operational once the key is turned on?
Totally ready for the traffic on Russian roads? Perfect!
Not a bad price. I had a gopro "like" device by Bresser that was a POS. It didn't last long.
One of the other Down Unders had posted some pics of a tubular/cylindrical cameras pointing fore and aft but I think they lacked being waterproof.
The short loop time would eliminate the mindless twisty road vids that have been posted occasionally but would allow time for capturing important scenes.

Yes the system is waterproof. I tapped into the grey tail light wire using a Posi Tap that came with the Fuzeblock wiring kit so it starts as soon as I turn the ignition on.

I think the software Blueskysea provides for PC's to review video footage could be better, it is basic and cluncky but does provides the info I need.
