Connecting heated grips wire and fuse block

I am looking at hooking up a fuse block to a switched circuit for fog lights, Oxford grips etc. I know Eastern Beaver caters to that end with some neat stuff (just ordered the heated grip connector) but I would like to just simply wire in a small fuse block and keep cost for simple things down. Allot of folks seem to tap into the tail light wiring for a switched connection. Could the factory heated grip connector be used for this? Besides location I cannot come up with any problem. On a previous dismantling I already freed up the connector a bit for future considerations.

Sure. It can be used as a trigger for a relay to control a fuse block.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

I hooked mine up this way. It seemed a little funny to run a wire from the heated grip connector to my underseat fuse box and then back to the heated grips, but I already had the heated grip adapter on hand.
