New Cardo Scala for 09?

Someone here (I think) mentioned a new version of the Cardo Scala (Q3?) comm system coming out for 09. Does anyone have any info on this? I've never tried speakers installed inside the helmet but my big concern is being able to hear it with earplugs. One guy said that he could actually hear better WITH the plugs which sounds counterintuitive but his reasoning was that blocking the wind noise was key.

I second that. I hear my communicator better with earplugs in.

I have the Scala Rider solo. It has an outstanding speaker (mono, one each), I have to have the audio in my phone cranked all the way but it is more than adequate.

What I really want is bluetooth ear buds (stereo, without a boom mike) that don't cost my first born to purchase...wait, on second thought...hmmm.

FYI, I have tested my system with someone elses Scaler Q2 setup. That is, my TomTom GPS, My BT phone, my iPod

and it all worked fine with a Nolan N102 helmet. I since bought one, BUT, the unit that I took home did NOT have the extra 3.5mm socket to take my iPod. So, it will have to go back for a refund.

This is the exact same model I tested on, just maybe some older shelf stock does not have the added mp3 option.

If you buy the Q2, just be aware of the above fact.

I have not heard of the Q3 and nothing is on their site as yet. Click Here

Cheers

You can buy a replacement mic/speaker setup from Cardo that has TWO speakers. It's still mono, but if you have any hearing loss in your left ear, it makes a huge difference. The cost is cheap. Somewhere around $25 when I bought mine.

All I could find on a quick search was a UK link...my guess is that this one has a 3.5mm input.
