Nolan N102 Comm/MP3 headphones

I don't know if I want the ability to talk on a phone when riding... Scratch that.. I know I don't.

But I am curious... How do you except or make calls with the Nolan Comm system?

I just bought an MP3 player for riding. I've found some earphones I'm interested in.

Anyone have experience with Westone UM1 earphones?

Clicky

They are an in the ear canal foamy expandable earpiece that blocks outside noise. Supposed to be very comfortable, and support small ear canals. I have problems with most in ear phones fitting well.

I have a Nolan N102 NCom helmet. I'm a bit disappointed in it as I've only hadit since March and the liner has packed out so much that it's now too big for me. Given how much I paid for it, I'm stuck with it for awhile. My next helmet will be a Shoei Mulititech. Anyway, I've got a set of $24.95 (at Best Buy) Skull Kandy earphones for my MP3 player, that sound terrific. They are shaped much like the ones you mention, and are comfortable under the helmet. For about $10.00 more, you can get the same ear speakers with an inline volume control which makes it easier to control the volume than reaching for the mp3 unit while riding. Just turn of the master volume high, and control it to the level you want with the inline control on the headphone cable.

Thanks for the input. I agree regarding the Nolan compression. fortunately my Nolan was a bit tight when new, the the compression has improvesd the fit some.

I'm not real interested in getting the Comm system (yet) maybe when the wife decides to ride also.

Skull Candy... My son has "had" over the ear skull candy phones. Sound quality was good, but the build quality was horrible. They "claim" life time warranty, and I've called them on it 3 or 4 times. Typically I had to pester them to send out replacement parts that soon broke again. Decided to just throw them away this past break.

I can defiantely see where having inline volume would be a very nice feature.

How well does your skull candy's block outside noise?

Thanks, Scotty
