Hide restaurants from garmin

im a little pissed off. It seems that I cannot hide the restaurants from my garmin 590. They pollute the screen. Has anyone had this issue and figured out a way to turn them off ? Or am I just screwed?

I kinda like some screen info. Garmin will answer email inquiries. May take a few days though. No 800 phone number?
What is sad is that some good places are not listed.

My Zumo 550 had a detail level setting. I don't have it any more so I can't be more specific or be sure it would do the trick.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

The GPS's I've used have a POI check list. Sounds like "restaurants: is checked on yours.

Sorta screwed.

Under:

Settings
Map & Vehicle
hit down arrow once
Map Layers
on Up Ahead Places, tap the right arrow on the right
select what you want to see - if tap one it will bring up the whole list

Unfortunately, you have to have at least three selected from what I can tell.

I believe if you tap the check mark on the left of Up Ahead Places it will remove them all, but I haven't tested that.

Up ahead places was the answer. I was looking for something else.

There are so many restaurants near me it was very distracting!
