MAD Maps now available

Mad MAps now are available at garmin.
Use "My Garmin" and sign in, then the fold hyerarchy is:
MyExtras/Dowloads/garmin extras/madmaps scenic routes.
I have not tried it out as they are 12.00 each to download, but each one includes many different poits of interest.
Thought I would point it out to ya;ll.

Cool, thanks for the tip.

Never met a dog I didn't like, a machine I couldn't break, or a woman I couldn't tick off.

The Maps are available for Zumo and Nuvi only. Make me wonder if I should sell my 276c.

I bought them for Cali Nevada Utah and Arizona.
You can only view on the GPS unit, no way to transfer to your computer ro pull up in mapsource.
Iam not pleased with the fact i cannot work with it on my PC.

I just spoke to my 72 year old dad who also has a zumo, he purchased the arkasas and missouri map set, he said it had 50 different tours, and loads right in the "extras" subtitle menu portion of his GPS.

The Nuvi and Zumo have a feature (TourGuide) that will display a picture and/or play a MP3 file when the GPS comes within a (settable) distance of the POI (point of interest) - this is what the Mad Maps use. In Mapsource (on the PC) the distance and action can be set by editing the POI - more info at http://www.gpsinformation.org/penrod...poiloader.html

Traded emails with Garmin, and they say that there is no way to view on the PC mapsource.
The files are .gpi and the mapsource uses .gpx
I should of bought the hard maps instead.

Mike, I think they have free file converters at many GPS forums. you should be able to convert any file over to GPI, GPX, CSV and so on. Here are some converter and utilities.
http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/
http://tomtom.gps-data-team.com/poi/poi_edit.php

I got quite a few hits when I googled "GPI to GPX converters".
