- scroll down to the SAE connector section) and wire it to your fuse block. They are handy to have around for many things; compressors, bike battery chargers, etc. Get a corded cigarette lighter adapter at pretty much any Walmart and connect a mating SAE connector to it. . Plug them together and you have a connector for your phone charger plus you have a connection that can be used for many other things.
2-pin SAE connectors are commonly found in stores that carry trailer wiring components. They are a relatively heavy current plug that is common in automotive use (SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers).
I have one on both of my bikes and use them for my cell phone charger cord, battery tender, compressor, etc. Handy to have around.
Oh yeah, most SAE connections are wired so that the exposed pin on the connector is ground on the vehicle side
. The insulated pin is positive on the vehicle side
. That way if the exposed pin grounds out on something when it is stored it doesn't cause a short.
