Bluetooth review. Jabra BT3030

I bought this bluetooth headset from FRY's Electronics for 75dollars taxed. just wanted to throw feedback to those who might be interested.

its a stereo bluetooth headset where the main unit is worn like a dogtag .

u wear it around your neck and has a 3.5 jack outlet where you can plug in almost any type of headphones you want.

the headphones that come with the unit are small enough to fit comfortably in my ears in my helmet. and has like an ear plug feature that works well in cutting out noise making the freeway rides very quiet... but not so quiet that u cant hear the car next to you as you merge into him.

its best feature is... well a bluetooth stereo, letting u play songs on your cellphone while its tucked away safely in a bag. the controls on the bluetooth can let u change tracks, pause and play songs during redlights (but i really mean reaching over and changing songs while cruising). its loudest volume isnt loud at all, still letting u hear the environment around you but atleast you will have something to sing along to on the drive home.

as a headset... well the mic is placed on the unit itself... though it seems kinda far from the mouth, it picks up my voice quite well. i wish i can give a review while riding, but i dont have an open faced helmet. windnoise doesnt seem to be a problem as i have picked up a call going 65mph and the caller didnt complain about windnoise (most likely in relation to the windshield blocking wind around the chest area)

besides the headset drawbacks... im looking at it more as a means of entertainment at a pretty cheap price. my 30 mile commutes dont seem so long and boring anymore.

Thanks for the review! I've seen a guy review the same gadget on ADV and he velcroed it into his helmet when he got a call and said it worked pretty well at speed. Just be careful with those things, you really don't want to be distracted while screaming down the road.

Intrigued by this. Combine this with WiRevo bluetooth stereo dongle linked to the Zumo will give me stereo bluetooth mp3's. If the guy velcroed the dog tag to the inside of his helmet I would assume he has less wire pull than a conventional wired connection when doing head turns. Is this true? 7 hours for music/gps aint too shabby. Buy 2 and you're good for 14 hours. Then there is the Motorola S9 stereo bluetooth headset (the one that wraps around the back of your neck? Time for some experimentation.

I hope that you can hear the other driver screaming as.."you merge into him"

Any idea how many devices can this pair with? Can it pair with an MP3 player AND the cell phone or are you limited to just 1 cell-phone pairing?
