XM, from space to thine own ears....

I have been an XM subscriber for a couple of years. I have the crusty old skifi2, oh my, I should have known better than to buy a Delphi product. Anyway, I used to drive a truck for a living, so I ended up with an extra car mount. I guess you can see where this is going. I have my antena mounted on the license plate light. Looks pretty spiffy. Of course I already have a 12v outlet on my home made dash. I was planning to run it through my MP3 player via an FM freq, until I noticed the 1/8'' line out jack. Been there all along. Is there a way to use that and modulate volume? My MP3 player charges through a USB, so it only last a couple of hours and I don't have a way to charge on the road.

Sorry I can be a little long winded, here is the Cliff notes version...

How can you change the volume if you use the line out jack on the Skifi2?
Can you wire a plug to charge an mp3 player through a USB jack with 12v?

Show me some picks of your sat radio set up....

Not too sure about the skifi but I beleve if you go into the MENU, find the LINE OUT SETTINGS, and raise or lower it there.

Problem 2.
You can get a cigarette or 12volt adapter with a usb charging port on it or get a cell phone charger with a usb output.

I hope this helps.

Can't help you with your first Q, but check out the third item on the page that the following link brings up at the Eastern Beaver site. I think it might be what you are looking for charging your mp3 player. If not, contact Jim at Eastern Beaver for help.
