Where did you buy/how much for your Zumo?

I'm looking into replacing my Quest with a Zumo (probably a 550). These units are "everywhere", but at a wide range of prices. Some are found using Google on some obscure shop I never heard about. Also, been told that many units from camera shops are 'international'. I bought a camera like that once, worked fine thankfully. Here's an example of a really good price on a 550 (too good?).

Where did you get yours and how much?

Thanks,
Rich

That price is way to good to be true. Alot of the common scams include shipping them without maps, or not US maps (instead maybe asian map seems to be common) or being out of stock unless you buy very expensive items that push it over the total. Expect to pay from $640-700 from a reputable vendor, and research carefully! There are many good prices out there and alot of scams. Zumoforums.com is a excellent guide.

Examples illustrating my point:

If I was going to buy new I would probably go with pcnation.com (except they charge sales tax in IL).
edgegps and tigergps do not have the best prices but are also considered reputable.

The whole if its too good to be true then it probably is, is very real in this case.

Personally I found a great deal on a used one and am thrilled with how it works Good luck!
Eric

I got mine from Compuplus.com. Great service and the unit was brand new.

Great service and I would buy from them again. But you already knew that as I posted the same answer on the COG site!!!!!

Yes indeed I saw that on the COG forum. There seems to be quite a lot of cross "pollenization" going on between the 2 groups. That's telling right there!

Thanks for the advice, in both places.

I buy my electronics from Amazon.com. They usually have very competitive prices and it's a website you can trust.

For the record, I am affiliated, but I've been a customer for years.
