RF and/or EMI problem with audio mixer

I bougth a MixIt2 and it does a great job of mixing all my inputs together (GPS, radar detector, XM radio and MP3). But, it's picking up a RPM driven noise too, and it's annoying like heck. John, the owner, has done a great job of emailing back and forth troubleshooting steps; but in the end the unit is just plain picking up RF/EMI (probably from the coils...)

I put mine right behind the gas tank, in the void between it and the coolant overflow (my bike a 2008 650 ABS). I moved it around and if it's right by the tool kit on the back under the seat it's okay. Not where I'd like to have it since I would need longer audio cable to reach it.

Anybody else has any RF/EMI noise with an audio mixer?

Thanks,
Rich
