Aux connector, Heated Grip Conn

I am adding a Adv Tech shelf with a 12v outlet, powerlet outlet and volt meter. I was going to connect the volt meter and 12v outlet to the Aux conn and the Powerlet to the Heated Grip conn. Has anyone done this and what advice do you have.
Tks.

Be aware the aux connector on a Glee can only handle about 3A. The heated grip connector is good for a little more. A motopump tire inflator is listed at 6A for example. If you want to use a tire pump, a fused connection directly to the battery with a socket under the seat is a good idea.

Bike is a 12 Wee, I was thinking I could run Heated Gear off the Powerlet to Heated Grip conn and 12v would be for charging phone in tank bag.

Heated grips can exceed 30W or 2.5A. A few people have tried to run heated grips off the aux connector with mixed results, probably depending upon the brand and draw. If the fuse for the aux connector blows, you lose the bike's ignition circuit. It's fine for charging phones and GPS which it what it was really designed for.

A typical heated jacket liner can run 90W or 7.5A which is likely too much for the heated grip connector.

See my sig for shortcut terminology I use.

I used that connector to trigger a relay that powers my grips & acc. socket. I used a 12 gauge wire straight from the battery, fused near the battery. Grounding to the frame is not recommended. run the ground wire to the battery.
Using a relay will insure the load (grips) is getting enough juice, & leave enough to add something to it later.

Probably connect volt meter and 12 volt accessory port to Aux conn. May add another 12v acc unswitched also. Not running heated grips. Can I run 14/16 gague wire for my accessories ? Thanks for the help

14ga is only need for a very high draw accessory like an air horn. 16ga will handle heated gear nicely and just about any other accessory. 10ga or 12ga is best for battery to relay and fuse or accessory block that metes out power to a number of accessories.
