Macs, Garmins and Bobcat

I have been trying to find a way to route on my Mac then transfer it over to my Garmin 2720. Garmin recently released Bobcat (http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...=3885#Instruct) but I can't seem to make it do anything (like even find my road!), does anyone here have any time with this new (beta) app? It shows the current map being the basemap V2 and I can't figure out how to upgrade it. If it can't be upgraded to the same level as the GPS unit, what good is it? I emailed support a week ago but haven't heard anything back.

Help or suggestions regarding other options are welcome! A new Intel Mac is on the wish list and with it I could run Windoze and all would be good but I'm looking for something that will work now on my 'ancient' 800 mhz iMac.

Am I alone with this or hasn't anyone else tried this new app?

BTW: still haven't heard back from Garmin.

I'm not sure if this will help...being that it's Zumo info, but it does pertain to the Mac.

Look for the Mac and Zumo Information.

You have to register to view it.

Two years ago, Garmin announced full OS X support:

http://www8.garmin.com/pressroom/corporate/011006.html

Two years later, they have made good on their promise, but barely. Here's how it's done:

Install Mapsource and all the Maps (from your DVD) on a Windows box.
Download Garmin's program (Windows) to convert the Map files to their Mac format.

Copy the converted files to your Mac via network, DVD-R, thumb drive or whatever.

On the initial launch of Bobcat or Mapinstall you will be prompted to locate the converted maps.

Kludgy as heck.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot.
