Audiovox CC and vacuum question

I've bought all the parts and am getting ready to tear the beast down tonight and start the install. But even with all the info out there and me doing my homework, I have what may be a stupid question because what I'm finding has me a little confused.

First, it's a DL1k6.

Knowing I need to take the fairing and gas tank off, I figure it's a good time, obviously, to put on the TB extention tubes for future use.

Here's the conflict. Everything I've read says to pull the plugs, install the extentions, put the vacuum barbs on the end and re-cap them. I've not seen anything about just connecting them together.

But, when setting up the vacuum canister, of my own making, I'll need to tie one or both of the extentions into the canister, including a check valve. Some instructions say to run both TB extentions to a Y connector and then to a check valve and then to the canister. But that would still effectively tie both TB's together. Is this a problem?

Oh, and while I'm at it, I also saw something mentioned on another site that sounded like a really good idea. The plan I had was to make the PVC canister with a vacuum port in from the check valve and at the other end, a vacuum port out to the servo unit. Someone else mentioned simply to put a T connector between the check valve and the canister and run to the servo from the T. Then there is no output port on the canister and the servo is always vacuum charged. Is there a downside to this method?

I've seen plenty of electrical diagrams on this subject but yet to see a vacuum diagram.

And finally, some sites say to use relays, others don't mention them at all unless you have LED brakelights. If I'm not going LED, do I really need to install relays? Are these existing relays already on the bike or do I need to go buy them? They aren't exactly listed on various parts lists on these sites.

Ok, so maybe there's more than one stupid question...

I have to add that I am mechanically inclined but some of what I read is like reading the Bible, ie, too many contradictions... I just want to tear it down, do it right and put it back together.

Connecting the two inlets to a tee is not a problem. When you do a TBS, remove the two lines from the tee and use them. A check valve does not create any problems. One relay is used for brake actuation release and another for clutch actuation release. If you do not have LED brake light, you don't need a brake relay. If pulling in the clutch makes the revs jump wildly before the CC releases the throttle, you need a clutch relay. That usually does not occur with our bikes. Relays are additional items that do not come with the bike or the Audiovox kit.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
