Garmin is awesome!

I called Garmin about my malfunctioning eTrex Legend. I told them it's a few years old, but they told me they'd fix it under warranty! They gave me a WRMA# and it's on it's way to them. They said they would have it back to me 7-10 days after receiving it, including shipping time.

I was expecting to pay the $99.00 for repairs/refurbish. I will buy from them again.

My brother is thinking about a GPS for his new DL650.
I found a place that looks like it has good pricing on Garmin stuff. Zumo550 for $675.00 Are these good prices?

Good price.

It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow.

They are one of the very few companies that actually answer the phone to discuss software and hardware problems.

I wish everyone had customer service like that.

Not your primary question, but I bought a GPS from that website (gpsonsale.com) and was pleased with the service, speed, and price.

Amazon has them for $650 no shipping charge. But, I would wait until the riding season starts to buy one. I'm thinking they will ugrade the current model with a wider and brighter screen, lighter unit, and much more accesibility to the internet. Like many of the things the new nuvi 760 has plus more....

Their customer service is second to none in my opinion.

Revell,

Make sure the Nuvi's are weatherproof - I don't think they are. The Garmin site will tell you which units are "motorcycle friendly" (their own term). The Zumo is especially designed for bikes - weatherproof and intended for left hand, big buttons, etc.....
