Garmin power cable quick release

Hi,

I mounted a Garmin Zumo 390LM to my 2013 V-Strom using the Touratech locking bracket and Ram mount onto the Adventure Tech over the dash GPS mount. Very neat. I hardwired the power cable to the accessory outlet with Eastern Beaver connector. My only problem is being able to remove the unit easily from one bike to the other, as the Touratech mount doesn't permit you to remove the power cable without breaking out the Allen keys! Has anyone tried putting an electrical connector on one of these Garmin cables, specifically after the power block that steps down the current, as the cabling is all neatly installed and zip-tied out of the way.

Thanks

Since I am also a ham radio operator, I used Anderson Power Poles for all my power needs.

They are not weather proof but when ever I am not touring, I unplug and remove the electronic farkles anyway. I also use the same power point to plug in my battery tender. Makes it easy peasy.

That sounds like what I'm looking for. I'm assuming the single Garmin wire has 2 separate cables inside, or is it some fancy ground wire around the hot wire. Any ideas?

Well come aboard Everton!

If you haven't already you might want to take a look in the Canadian section and perhaps say hello. There are a lot of Stromriders in Eastern a Ontario.. Quite a few came to our a Meet and Greet in Bancroft today.

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)
