Talking IMC MIT-100 Communication System

I have searched and searched the internet high and low for information on this communication system from Sierra Electronics. There is very little information on getting the thing setup properly and reviews once the system has been tried out for awhile. I will be hooking this system up to my Weestrom in the next few days. I will make posts in this thread about the install and how the system works.

Here is a link to the system: It will be used to integrate a Midland 75-822 CB, mp3 player, and cellphone. From what I understand, the CB will be the hardest to install and get working correctly.

I also plan to install a Blue Seas 5025 fuse block to get control of my numerous electrical farkles: GPS, accessory outlet, heated vest hookup, and the soon to be added MIT-100.

Most of my riding buddies use the J&M CB setup, but I'm trying to stay out of spending that kind of money. We'll soon see if this less expensive setup will work.

Wish me luck.

After struggling at the kitchen table with preinstallation cable hookups for an hour, I called Sierra tech support this morning. One of my cables was the wrong cable for this system. They apologized and have another on the way. I guess I can go ahead and get the blue seas 5025 in place while I wait for the correct Mit-100 parts.

I have one and it works ok with a CB, MP3/FM radio and intercom. I really don’t use the cell phone but it worked when I tested it. My only problem is the connection for the helmets are not as good as I would like.

Do you have the old style ps2/mini din type plugs, or the new firewire plugs?

Do you have your CB running off bike power or battery power? Do you use an external antenna for the CB or just the "rubber duck"?

Thanks for the info. I really want to get the thing hooked up and running this week.
