Sena Firmware Update 5.0.1 for SMH-10- Bug Fixes for v5.0

Sena just released another firmware update for the SMH-10 BlueTooth intercom; available on Sena's website. Bug fixes.

This is an update of the v5.0 firmware released in Feb 2014...

Change made from version 5.0 to 5.0.1
Improved compatibility with Bluetooth GPS devices
Minor bug fixes in sidetone, Universal Intercom™, 3-way conference intercom, and GPS device.

Remember, in doing any firmware update, it's best to reset the unit to defaults, clearing all settings and pairings and re-pairing to your devices for best results...

I've noticed a big improvement in intercom quality with the updates.

Just a side note: the Uclear HBC200 system has a software/firmware update that allows compatibility with other brands of bluetooth as well. Have not updated yet but this is all good news for everyone who uses such devices to pair together. Not saying the Uclear system is better than the Sena but this is what I have as well as some of the guys I ride with.

Just ordered the SMH10r. Looks like you need a degree to figure it out. It'll be nice to have decent bluetooth finally.

No its pretty simple. To configure the the device for basic function for the more advance stuff you are best of using their computer tool to configure it.

I have finally determined that you cannot reliably update the Sena firmware with a Mac. It works fine on a PC (even the old laptop I dragged out of the basement), but there are myriad frustrations and fails on OS-X.
