I love my SMH10. If this looks like a significant upgrade (which it does) I'll have to upgrade and give my existing headset to the missus

This is a firmware upgrade that will work with your existing Sena headset.

I recently bought a pair of SMH-10Ds from Eastern Performance; downloaded the program from the Sena site to the laptop and flashed the firmware to 4.3 (released this fall). The new firmware allows music sharing and conference call enhancements.

According to Sena tech support minions, the new firmware that will enable cross-brand interoperability (firmware version 5.0 for the SMH-10) should be released early in 2014 (hoping for January).

This will be very cool if it happens...I also have some Cardo Scala Q2's...

Also heard rumor they're working to pair with GoPro. This would be awesome for those of us using GoPros and riding with multiple riders. Oh the possibilities!

I have a Sena in one helmet but still vastly prefer the Autocom. I also have Motorola and Cardo bluetooth headsets.

The software upgrade sounds like a good thing but bluetooth is one of those creatures that might work and might not depending on what you're trying to do. A wired system just works as long as you don't break the cables.
