I was leaning that way.
I actually had the TomTom for a day. The bluetooth receiver didn't work. Tom Tom support told me to take it back to where it was purchased (Frye's). I tried to exchange it but they didn't have any in stock so I just took a refund.
A couple days later, they had an open Rider for $90 less than the new one. The only reason they gave for the price difference is it was open - I'm guessing it's the one I took back and they just marked it down.
Their staff didn't know 5h1t about the GPSs they were selling either. They couldn't tell me any differences between the 550 and Rider (or 2830). There were 4 "sales people" staring at a cabinet of computer components while I waited about 15 min for someone to answer a few questions. When it became clear that they couldn't answer any questions, I asked the guy to give me enough information to justify spending $1,000 at his store. If he had been creative enough, I might have paid retail for the unit just to have it in hand that day.
Long story short, my 550 will be here in a couple days from getfeetwet.
